attop the rock and rock heap where celebreality girlfriends and very long song titles trump skill, song craft and stick-to-itiveness. These guys are gimmickfree
and full of vigor, building off of a punk and classic rock blueprint while playing with a heart and authenticity that’s become a rarity in 2008. Vice brings
to mind a number of big, late 1970s records. For instance, the vintage, melodic hard rock roar of ‘Jersery Shore,’ holds the keys to Detroit Rock City and
feels as exhilarating as a wave crashing down overhead. Elsewhere, ‘Continental’ is as much about ZZ Top’s Deuello as it is about explicit drug tragedies.

D Bellrays Hard Sweet & Sticky Anmu 19 822641001921 12/9.19 _____ Rock
Hard, Sweet and Sticky is the 2008 album from the world famous BellRays who have applied the accumulated knowledge of more than a decade of touring,
playing, writing and recording to the exquisite songcraft that is the backbone of this album. This is an album that combined the hard-driving raunch of their
early garage-punk recordings with the emotive dynamism of their more recent forays into ‘Curtis Mayfield meets Gladys Knight style soul’. Hard, Sweet and
Sticky is a record which seamlessly combines the propulsive, punk heartbeat of early works like ‘Let it Blast’ with the ice-cold cadence of later soul
numbers like, ‘Tell The Lie’.

D Black Stars: Ghana’S Hi Black Stars: Ghana’S Hi Out Her 776244 4047179193726 16/11.59 _____ World
Black Stars: Ghana’s Hiplife Generation, compiled by Out Here Records’ Georg Milz (also of the Munich-based Daladala Soundz), presents some of the most
popular Hiplife artists from Ghana to the rest of the world. The title of this compilation tips its hat to Jamaican black activist Marcus Garvey, who founded
the Black Star Line, a shipping company that brought African-Americans back to Africa, and the black star on Ghana’s national flag. In 2008, a new crop
of stars rose when Ghana’s youth stopped dancing to Highlife, and switched to Hiplife — the local mix of hip-hop, highlife, reggae and dancehall. Hiplife
gained prominence about 10 years ago with Reggie Rockstone, known as the “Godfather of Hiplife” and the first to rap in Twi, the most common language
in Ghana.

Violent J, Boondox comes from “the crops”. The Newton County native is easily identified by his distinct look - a flannel shirt, straw hat and sinister face
paint. His outfit is reminiscent of a scare-crow. In addition to this, Boondox also sports the Hatchetman pendant typical of all artists on the Psychopathic
Records label.

I Brigade Come Morning We Fight Canned 1353415 5037300753324 31/17.99 _____ Rock
2008 sophomore album from the London-based Rock quartet. If there was ever a band to capture the essence of powerful dynamics, emotional sincerity
and perfectly crafted songwriting, then Brigade are that band. Residing in London but with roots in Suffolk, Japan and Bristol, they are a shining example
of a band that fall outside the remit of genre classification. Here’s a band that write enormous songs; songs that wrap themselves around you like a
grappling, hugging bear and won’t let go! In every sense of the word. Come Morning We Fight sounds huge. It’s an album that towers over the majority of
today’s Rock bands and will ensure Brigade catapult into the major playing field. Every ounce a contender for the rock album of 2008, it’s a maniacal
masterpiece of sure-fire Rock hits. Canned.
